London Fashion Week AW15 hosted at Somerset House

The whirlwind of London Fashion Week AW15 is now over and gives Ally Bee a crystal ball of what will be hot next Autumn Winter. Here is a snapshot forecast…

80s Re-wind

Designer J.W Anderson introduced an 80s style rave to his catwalk, as models, adorning vibrant jewel tones and oversized colour block earrings bobbed along to the beat of The Human League. Approach this trend with caution. You do not want to look like an 80s throwback. Rather than going the whole kit and caboodle, revive the look with simple colour block accessories and metallic highlights to brighten up your winter looks.

Neutral Tones

The runways from Topshop Unique and Pringle shout out that camel tones from caramel to dark tans will make a splash for AW15. So if you are not one for colour pop then camel is your neutral tone for the season. Go for tonal pieces in textured and detailed knits to add a three dimensionality to your neutral palette. Great news for the Ally Bee AW15 colour palette in warm natural tones of carefully blended 100% British alpaca. Watch this space…

Hippie Chic

If the 80s are not your cup of tea (i.e. – you’ve been there before …) you’ll be every bit as fashionable channelling the 70s in the coming winter season (even if you have been there before too!). Hippie chic is as popular as ever and this season Burberry and Matthew Williamson offer their take on a 70s classic. Rather than going for subtle references it is full on glamorous dresses full of volume and intricately detailed which will be hitting the rails come Autumn Winter 2015.

Luxurious layers

Lux layers are in and that’s good news! Perfect for keeping toasty and ensuring that you stay looking fabulous for AW15. Fur layers have made a welcome return to the runways with Jasper Conran, Matthew Williamson and House of Holland indulging in everything from fluffy trims to full on Mongolian fur coats. Whether you fancy subtle hints or lashings of fur you can layer your tactile look with silky satins textured knits and jewel toned jacquards.

AW15 is a long way off thank goodness but its good to know what fashion treasures may be on the horizon after a long long hot summer that goes on and on an on. We wish!
