Ally Bee Knitwear went to the beach recently to photoshoot the new mens scarf collection at Watergate Bay in Cornwall. We took a day out of our Cornwallian holiday for the shoot and Watergate Bay proved to be the perfect backdrop for the understated, practical luxury of Ally Bee’s first line of pure British alpaca men’s scarves & gloves. Photographer Adj Brown was brilliant, capturing the majesty of Watergate Bay and bringing out the warmth and quality of the pure alpaca knitwear in this debut men’s collection. No make-up & no staged lighting – this photoshoot is completely additive free!

A big thanks to cold water surf label, Finisterre, for generously styling the shoot with pieces from their hot-off-the-press new AW15 menswear collection. Finisterre HQ is in St Agnes, not far from Watergate Bay. They appreciate British manufacturing and use specialist British natural fibre in their Bowmont wool knitwear range. Coupling surfing with environmentally sustainable design makes very good sense, and it was a privilege to have a collaboration with this company on this photoshoot. Finisterre scrutinises each aspect of production to provide reassuring transparency to its growing following of customers. Check out their iSpy logo. Keep an eye out for Finisterre when next in need of kit for surfing and hardy outerwear and check out their new store next time you are in Covent Garden…
Big thanks also to model Neil for his sense of humour and meeting the brief so effortlessly. And especially photographer Adj Brown, who knows this part of the world so well and suggested we catch the early morning light and shadow of stunning Watergate Bay to capture the winter knitwear collection. Ally Bee shoots have been rather stressful until I met Adj! What a pleasure, and look forward to working with him again.
And a special thanks to my silver fox for being a very obliging runner for the day. x
